The virtual privacy officer first performs an onsite assessment, identifying gaps between the requirements of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), other federal and state privacy laws, and the organization’s actual privacy practices. The privacy officer then facilitates an action plan to address those gaps, and provides just the services the organization needs.
